Google Buys Youtube for 1.6B - It’s Good To Be King

In a characteristically unpolished video that you expect on youtube the two founders talk about the acquisition and what it means for their users. Chad makes an awkward analogy that this is the coming together of “two kings”, and Steve seems almost embarrassed. Very funny, I wonder if their analyst calls are going to be as amusing and flaky.

  1. Nice catch.

Is it just me or it looks like it was filmed outside one of the TGIF restaurant in San Jose?

  2. Right now, Google Video has the capabilities to handle all of the video storage and bandwidth required. My understanding is that Google will allow YouTube to be it own identity allowing to flourish as it is. However, I am sure they will impose their standards of operation which may change YouTube. But I think this will put Google Video to the top of the poll.
