The best airline I ever flew on was Virgin Atlantic so I was really looking forward to my first fight on Virgin America. Really disappointed. The entertainment screen lost satellite connection through most of the flight and because of that, the guy in the seat behind me kept punching the touch screen buttons. Very unpleasant flight.

I like Virgin America a lot but had a really WEIRD experience recently. Flying from LAX to Dulles in first class I had the check-in staff attempt to force me to check my legal-sized carryon. They weighed it and said it was over the company's 16 pound carryon limit (mine weighed 23). SIXTEEN pounds?

Yes, they said, the company has a weight limit. Then they tried to convince me that all other airlines do, too.

When I threatened to go take the United flight leaving 45 minutes later they relented and let me carry it on, but I was really ready to walk away.

By the way, I checked the policies of other major airlines and most allow either 35 or 30 pounds maximum for carryons and are mostly concerned with the external dimensions.

I hate airlines like United and American and would gladly support the new kid on the block but but I won't be flying Virgin again until they fix this problem.

Well Karl, I was pleased to read your blog about Virgin because Dad and I are going to Antigua in January and we are flying Virgin Atlantic. I wasn't feeling particularly enthusiastic because I like BA but it sounds good!

I'm the agent that was sitting next to you on the flight. I'm glad you had a great time and loved the review. Hope to see you and your friend traveling through Las Vegas more often.

Carl, glad you had such a greate experience! I have been flying Virgin Atlantic for years, and I hate to fly anything else to Europe. The meals, amenities, and seat consoles are fabulous. I am looking forward to my first flight on Virgin America, especially now that they are in San Diego.

Virgin rocks, and so does your blog!
