Should Guacamole actually contain Avocado? Apparently a Kraft food version of Guacamole contains less than 2% Avocado and a consumer has taken up a class action suite against them for deceptive marketing. The ingredients are of course includes modified food starch, hefty amounts of coconut and soybean oils, and green.
Kind of like the difference between a Grape Juice and a Grape Drink…
I was in South America recently and I noticed that Green Sauce is a popular condiment. I guess it’s technically guacamole (if that makes any sense… I’m not sure anything can be “technically guacamole”) but it had the consistency of mayonaisse so I think Green Sauce is a better name.
Green sauce would be a much better description. In England we have the pervasive “brown sauce” which goes well with everything fried
I guess the problem with Guacamole is that it’s kind of like of peanut butter, Avocado is the defining ingredient, problem is it’s not in the name. The FDA regulates peanut butter and it has to be 90% peanuts.
